Borja is specialized in advising national and multinational clients on all energy-related issues. Among others, he has helped the main players in the Renewable Energy and Infrastructure industries to achieve their objectives with extensive experience in all types of transactions (APA, SPA, Joint Ventures, NDA, MOU, new branches and subsidiaries, EPC, O&M, permits, authorizations, commercial contracts etc.).
Borja’s experience extends to banking and finance (project finance, project bonds, corporate finance, leverage finance, lines of credit, COMEX, etc.).
He also has extensive experience in Rooftops, Self-consumption and Energy Efficiency.
He represents, among others, Spanish and foreign banks, developers, contractors, manufacturers, investment funds and his experience in projects spans more than 15 countries.
Borja has been counsel for Bird & Bird’s energy area in the Madrid office and lawyer at Jones Day. He knows the client side well as he has also developed his career at GRI Renewable Energies, Solaria, X Elio and Bow Power. Borja participates in various forums and is an energy and infrastructure expert in the Think Tank of the Jean Monnet network, AMENET, where he collaborates with the main institutions of African countries and the main actors in the region to gather the perspectives of all interested parties in promoting the sustainability and healthy development of Africa.
