Paula specializes in advising national and multinational clients on all matters related to data protection and cybersecurity. Her practice ranges from advising on internal governance procedures in these matters to assisting in administrative proceedings before the authorities.
Paula has helped numerous national and international clients to implement the General Data Protection Regulation and has assisted insurance companies that offer cybersecurity policies in the incident management process.
Paula understands her clients’ problems to obtain value from their data and loves to provide practical solutions. We understand that a strong governance in this area has a direct impact in our clients’ business.
Paula has advised numerous entities of the pharmaceutical industry in all matters related to the protection of personal data related to their business, including clinical trials.
Paula has been a partner in the TMT area at Pinsent Masons and has headed the Bird & Bird data protection department in the Madrid office. Previously, she worked as an in-house lawyer at Electronic Data Systems (an HP group company), and as a lawyer at Linklaters and at the Madrid and Brussels offices of Gómez-Acebo & Pombo.
Paula is co-author of several books on data protection and is a regular speaker at universities and sector conferences, including those related to the health sector.
