More than 20 years of experience in intellectual property law
Blanca Cortés has more than 20 years of experience in the practice of intellectual and industrial property law, advertising, unfair competition, privacy, honor and image, as well as in technological services agreements. Her experience also includes representation in pre-litigation and judicial proceedings.
Among the clients she advises are art galleries, architecture studios, TVs, radios, production companies, infrastructure companies, artists, trademark holders, mass market companies, digital platforms, software developers and startups at national and international level.
Blanca has developed her career in the Spanish Society of Authors and Editors (SGAE), as well as in prestigious national and international law firms such as DLA PIPER and CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo. Prior to joining ThinkSmartLaw, Blanca was a consulting partner at ROCA JUNYENT, where she led the intellectual property & digital business department of its Madrid office.
Blanca has been a guest lecturer/professor at the UAM, ETSAM, ICADE, Carlos III, Instituto de Empresa (IE), Factoría Cultural, Fundación Banco Santander, Universidad de Bellas Artes, IED, Madrid Design Festival, Fundación ADDA Art, among others. Blanca’s lecturing practice stands out for her knowledge of the relationship between intellectual property, architecture and contemporary art.

She is also a co-founder of ALTTRA Foundation, a non-profit organization whose main mission is bringing contemporary art to the Balearic Islands in order to place it at the center of its inhabitants and visitors lifes, and of CAMPING, an initiative that opens the space of the Madrid gallery NF/NIEVES FERNÁNDEZ to various cultural actors, so that they can develop and exhibit their projects and creations in its space.
Since 2013, Blanca has been consistently selected by the publications Chambers Europe/Global and Best Lawyers among the best lawyers in her areas of practice, being highlighted in Band 2 (copyright).
